Adventure tour in the north

Our adventure tour in the North features most of the sites of the “Classic Tour of the North,” Three bays, la Mer d’Emeraude - Emerald Sea, Montagne des Français, Montagne d’Ambre national park, Tsingy Rouge, Andrafiamena-Andavakoera, Ankarana national park, then extends eastwards off roads to the protected area of Anjano Tsimaty in the commune of Daraina to proceed to the town of Iharana also known as Vohemar and its sacred lake of of Andranotsara infested of crocodiles and southwards crossing the extent of savanna to the town of Andapa and the national park of Marojejy. The tour will typically end at the town of Sambava famous for the plantation of vanila.

We typically recommend the tour to be carried out in a minimum of fourteen (14) days to get some sort of acquaintance to the aforementioned iconic places and sites in the north tip of the island of Madagascar. Anybody with more extended interest in wildlife and nature is advised to dedicate more time to the journey.

® Most, not to say the entirety, of the road to be travelled on being in bad to very bad state, therefore “bumpy,” 4WD vehicles are needed for the transfers.

Alternatively, the tour could be combined with some days to explore the national park of Masoala, the island of Nosy Be and its satellite islets if the tour would be curtailed after visiting Anjano Tsimaty.
